Lily attended one of her first "little kid" birthday parties(I suspect there will be many more in the future) this afternoon. Pictured here with the birthday girl, Thet (now 2 years-old). The party was held at Mandalay Restaurant in Silver Spring, MD -- which serves great Burmese food.
Thet is the niece of the owners.

At the last minute(Tuesday night), we decided to make one last, mad dash to the beach. Heather has to go back to work/school on Monday. As it turned out, Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ had exactly one vacancy for one night only(Wednesday 8/17/05). It seemed like a good omen, serendipity, or some such thing.
