We didn't decide until Friday morning that we would make our annual trek to Chincoteague. We had gotten permission from our pediatrician to travel with Zoe(now nearly 3-weeks-old)as long as we stayed in a hotel and kept her away from crowds. We read and reread weather reports, and although a little cooler than we would have liked, it appeared that it would be nice. While this would be Zoe's first time, and Lily's second, Heather and I had made the trip every year since 2000. Others in the group have been gathering for over 20 years.

At 10:39 am, Lily officially became a big sister. Zoe weighed in at 9 lbs, .o6 oz (and measured 20 1/2").

Here I am holding the Smith-Williamson Twins, Natalie and Rita (pictured at about 6-months old), last month when all of us gathered at the Peabody-Grosh abode. Jim, the twins father, was the assistant manager at Second Story Books when I first worked there in May of '83 -- we've been good friends ever since...I guess I'll have my hands full when Lily's brother/sister is born next week. Actually, I won't really find out until Heather returns to work around Thanksgiving.

I've posted a new set of pics of Lily eating ice cream at Austin Grill (9/1/05). While Lily got messy and sticky, she didn't get nearly as messy as she did in the series of pictures I took of her eating in her high chair back in May -- nor, was she as joyful as she was eating a cupcake on her birthday.
